Indie But Goodie
DeVotchKa, headliners at College of Santa Fe's Quadstock festival October 4.
With crisp instrumentals and an elated, dreamy quality, DeVotchKa’s eager, coherent riffs whisper of sixties psych-folk and pop, with accordions and bells as sweet bedfellows. October 4, the band—best known for music on the Little Miss Sunshine soundtrack, its name a derivative of the Russian devushku, meaning “little girl”—headlines the bill at the College of Santa Fe’s Quadstock festival (12–6 pm, 1600 St. Michael’s). Other must-see performances include singer-songwriter Alissa Moreno, CSF world-music ensemble Rusalki, fire-dancing DNA Project, and Wise Fool’s acrobatic circus troupe. Tickets: $20, 505-988-1234, ticketssantafe.com
