DANCE
Santa Fe’s boundary-busting Moving People Dance Theatre (movingpeopledance.org) opens its three-week Summer Dance Festival with performances at the Lensic (211 W San Francisco) that pair Moving People’s contemporary choreographies with pieces by nationally touring companies. Opening Night, on June 6, includes a mixed repertoire with guest dancers from Ballet Austin, and on June 7, New York’s ultramodern Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company stages all-new works (both nights $10–$80, 8 pm). The festival continues Fridays and Saturdays through July 28. Tickets: 505-988-1234, ticketssantafe.com

THEATER
If Carrie Fisher hadn’t made a name for herself as Princess Leia, or with her best-selling autobiography about the Hollywood diva’s disastrous early years, Postcards from the Edge, she still would have succeeded with her hit one-woman play, Wishful Drinking. Rising yet again from the ashes of a life marred by addiction, mental illness, and all manner of dysfunction, Fisher wrote and now performs this acclaimed tragicomedy that’s left audiences in tears—and stitches. See it at the Lensic (211 W San Francisco) June 18–22, 2 pm and 7 pm Sunday, 8 pm all other days. Tickets: $25–$55, 505-988-1234, ticketssantafe.com
